Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 opened in New Delhi on Friday with Indian and foreign auto makers displaying their state-of-the-art technologies, including advanced driver assist system (ADAS) and green mobility solutions powered by technologies based on hydrogen, electric, natural gas and flex-fuel.

With over 50 exhibits, including driverless Harrier EV, reinvented Sierra, and the Avinya X SUV, Tata Motors leads the ‘zero emission-future mobility’ display with the widest range of green technologies.

The all-new Tata Sierra, a reincarnation of the iconic 1991 SUV, comes with petrol, diesel, and electric powertrain options. Built on Tata’s ATLAS architecture, the Sierra boasts of several advanced features such as panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, and Level 2 ADAS that meets latest standards in safety and comfort.

The Harrier EV features an ADAS safety suite, connectivity, as also a new summon mode which allows it to drive by itself without the need of a driver. It also comes with cutting-edge technologies such as vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities.

Also on display are 14 new commercial vehicle models, including the Ace Pro mini truck, the Intra EV Pickup, the battery-electric truck Prima E.55S, and the hydrogen-powered Prima H.28, offering a range of approximately 550 kilometres.

Tata Motors will be showcasing several new models, including the electric Safari, petrol Safari, and the Sierra in electric and ICE powertrains. 

Mahindra and Mahindra is showcasing its production-ready XUV700 electric, called the Mahindra XEV 7e. The new 3-row electric SUV is the third model based on Mahindra's Born-electric INGLO platform. Also on display are Rall-E concept and existing models such as the BE 6 and XEV 9e.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, the country’s largest car maker, has come out with the eVitara, its first electric model for India. The eVitara comes with a 61 kWh battery option that delivers a 500 km range and a 49 kWh variant. The higher voltage option is also available in an all-wheel drive format.

Maruti claims that the eVitara is built on the brand-new EV platform that is designed for exceptional strength, structural rigidity and with features like spacious cabin, and advanced high-voltage and high-temperature protection. 

Porsche has displayed an updated model of the electric car Porsche Taycan which has undergone some subtle changes to make it look fresh.

Chinese carmaker BYD has showcased the plug-in hybrid U8 SUV concept which makes 1,084 bhp of power using four electric motors.

On Day 1 of Bharat Mobility Expo Hyundai announced that its Creta EV will be priced at Rs17.99 lakh ex-showroom.

Also on display are Hyundai’s sister concern KIA Motor’s new Kia EV9, the updated EV6 and the Kia Syros, which is set for launch in February.

MG Motor has revealed details of both the Cyberster and the M9, which include Scissor doors, 20-inch alloy wheels, three screens and ADAS Level 2. The M9 also features a 90 kWh battery pack, sliding electric doors and massage modes.

Skoda India has showcased a number of vehicles and announced plans to launch its Superb and the Octavia RS in India in the coming months, but in CBU form.

Besides carmakers Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Kia, Tata Motors, and others, two-wheeler makers such as Bajaj, KTM, Triumph, BMW, Hero MotoCorp are also displaying their new offerings – both concept and production models.

In the two-wheeler segment, Hero has come out with the Xpulse 210, Xtreme 250, Xoom 125, and the Xoom 160 models while Suzuki launched its eAccess and the Gixxer that runs on felx fuel. Suzuki also launched the updated Access 125 model.

Hosted by industry associations and supported by the ministry of commerce and industry, Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 is spread over an area of over 200,000 square meters, providing ample space for exhibitions, conferences, and interactive sessions. 

Over half a million visitors from across the globe are expected to visit the expo. With 5,100 international participants, the expo has a global significance.

Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, spread across three locations, including Bharat Mandapam, Yashobhoomi and Dwarka, in New Delhi will run until 22 January 2025.
