Hyderabad: Men's clothing brand Diwan Saheb is launching its first outlet in the city.

Delhi-based Diwansons (India) Private Limited, a 47 year old company, is the owner of the Rs 20 crore Diwan Saheb brand, which over the years has acquired a following in international markets and has an exclusive image in men's haute couture in the Indian market.

The company expects a turnover of Rs 1.5 crore from the new outlet in the first year of its operations.

Sudhir Diwan of Diwansons, while briefing the media, said that the new outlet was yet another milestone in Diwan Saheb's expansion plan which will see it spread its network across India, while consolidating its strong presence in north India.

He said the company was looking at growth through expansion in domestic markets. "Although we have nine mega showrooms in India and one in London, our focus this year will be on expanding domestically. As part of our expansion plans, we are planning to open a showroom in Bangalore later this year. An exclusive outlet in Chennai is also in the pipeline for which negotiations are going on," he said.

According to him Diwansons clocked revenues of Rs 20 crore last year and expect to touch a turnover of Rs 26 crore by 2005, he said.

The new outlet showcases traditional wear like jamavars, jodhpuris, sherwanis, kurta pyajamas, angarakhas and bangalas to tuxedos, cocktail and western business suits and waist-coats for fashion-conscious males.
