Royal Sundaram insurance offer to educational institutions

Chennai: The city-based Royal Sundaram Alliance Insurance has introduced Education Shield, a comprehensive insurance package for educational institutions, to cover physical assets as well as the welfare of students, staff members and the public.

The policy includes a special 'educational grant', which is given in case of death of either of the parents to take care of education-related expenses of the student. Education Shield also provides for reimbursement of examination fees in case the student cannot attend the examination due to an accident.

Education Shield is targeted at schools, colleges, universities and other professional training institutes. The insurance benefits of Education Shield are designed to cover physical assets such as building, furniture, fixtures, computer items, generators, laboratory equipment, portable items, against all risks, including fire and burglary, with an option to cover accidental damage risk.

The policy also provides cover for staff through group personal accident insurance for accidental death and disablement and group healthcare cover covering accidental injuries, diseases and illness. Workmen's Compensation cover is also provided for staff and public risks.

Some of the additional features are cover for loss of money in transit or in safe against burglary hold up, mechanical and electronic items against breakdown risks and risks exposures against loss due to infidelity of staff.
