Tata Power’s Maithon mega power project-unit 1 achieves full load on coal

Tata Power today said the Uni 1 of its 525 MW Maithon Power plant in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, had achieved full load generation.

It said in a statement the full load generation had taken place at 11:45 am on 30 June.

The full load generation was achieved after the successful synchronisation of the unit under the requisite standard requirements, thye statement said.

Unit 1 was scheduled to achieve commercial operation by H1 of FY12.

The 1050 MW Maithon Power Limited is a 74:26 joint venture between Tata Power and Damodar Valley Corporation is implementing a 2 x 525 MW coal-fired power project in Jharkhand.

"MPL is the first successful public-private partnership in greenfield generation project in the country," Tata Power said in a statement.
