L&T's building and construction division bags new orders worth Rs4,100 crore

Larsen & Toubro's construction division unit Buildings & Factories Independent Company has secured new orders for airport expansion as also construction of hospital, commercial (including factories) and residential buildings worth Rs4,100 crore during the first quarter of FY'12.

L&T secured new orders aggregating to Rs1,638 crore for construction of commercial buildings and airports, which include design and construction of airport terminal expansion and other commercial buildings as also construction of buildings for hospitals and medical colleges.

The engineering and construction major also secured orders worth Rs2,051 crore for the construction of residential towers across major cities.

New orders, including additional orders in ongoing contracts, worth Rs411 crore, have been received for construction of factories, L&T said.

These orders are over and above the orders already secured for major design and building contracts for airports, IT parks and other commercial and residential space.
