Dabur India Ltd plans to enter the apple soft drink market this month to beat the summer heat.

The new drink, it is reported, will be non-fizzy and is a part of the company's plan to enter the non-cola soft drink market. The product will be available in the market from the first week of May.

The entry of the new apple drink will be in competition to Parle's Appy Fizz and Coca-Cola's Fanta Apple.

Dabur's `Real' and `Real Activ' are very popular non-fizzy fruit drinks.

Dabur Foods, a 100 per cent subsidiary of the $3 billion Dabur Group, realised the potential of the processed and packaged food industry (4th largest in the world), began operations as a separate division in the year 1999.

The company has succeeded in establishing brands in a market where the barriera to accepting packaged food are high, and the fledging processed food industry was in a nascent stage.

Some of its leading brands are `Real Fruit Juice', `Coolers', `Hommade', `Lemoneez' and `Capsico.'
