Visaka Industries records 73-per cent jump in net profits

Hyderabad: Textiles manufacturer Visaka Industries has reported a 73 per cent rise in net profit at Rs563.02 lakh for the quarter ended 30th September 2005 against a net profit of Rs326.20 lakh during the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
Net
sales from operations during the quarter increased by
41.67 per cent at Rs6,779.71 lakh against Rs4,785.70 lakh
during the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
The net profits for the first half of the current financial
year increased by 57.24 per cent to Rs952.84 lakh against
Rs605.97 lakh registered during the corresponding half
of the previous year.
The net sales income from operations during the first half of the financial year increased by 41.72 perent at Rs.14571.61 lakh against Rs.10282.16 lakh last year comparable period.

Vivekanand, chairman and managing director of Visaka Industries
said, "In view of the thrust given to the infrastructure
industry and rural housing in the budget we now plan to
rejig our business plan and give more thrust to our fiber
cement sheets division. Accordingly we are planning to
set up one fibre cement sheets unit in Ahmedabad and one
in Vijayawada."
