Videocon launches android-based 3G-calling tablet at Rs 8,999

Videocon Mobile Phones, a Videocon Group company, has launched a 3G-calling tablet `Videocon VT85C' price at Rs8,999, as part of expanding its offerings in the budget tablet segment.
The Videocon VT85C runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and supports voice-calling with SIM card. It comes with a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1024x600 pixels.
The tablet is powered by 1.2GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor (unspecified chipset) with GC 1000 GPU. It also sports a 5-megapixel rear camera and includes a VGA front-facing camera.
The VT85C tablet has a heavy duty 3000 mAh battery, according to a company statement.
The budget tablet category is expected to reach 182 million end-user devices by end of 2013, the company quoted a report by research firm Gartner.
''With the tablet market in the country expanding every day, we seek to become a strategic player in the mix of things who offers the best of technology at the most affordable of pricing to consumer.'', Videocon Mobile Phones, Product Planning and Development, Head, Khalid Zamir said.
The tablet comes with up to 32GB expandable memory and has a 1GB RAM facility, the statement added.
Videocon recently revamped its smart phone line-up and announced the `Infinium' series that included eight smart phones - the Videocon A55HD, A55qHD, A54, A53, A52, A48, A42 and A31.
