MTS launches lowest-priced Android smartphones in India

Sistema Shyam TeleServices Ltd (SSTL), which provides telecom services under the MTS brand, has launched the lowest-priced Android smartphones in the country. The Android-based phones - MTS MTAG 3.1 and MTS Livewire – are priced below Rs5,000.

Sistema Shyam TeleServices Ltd (SSTL), which provides telecom services under the MTS brand, has launched two smartphones priced below Rs5,000. The Android-based phones - MTS MTAG 3.1 and MTS Livewire – are slated to be lowest-priced smartphones in the country.

The handsets incorporate Qualcomm's Snapdragon S1 processors that adapt to real-time demands, ensuring extended battery life, while the handsets support high quality voice and net enabled data services, MTS said in a statement.

The handsets were launched at IndiaOn, an event held by Qualcomm in New Delhi.

''I am immensely pleased to announce the launch of MTS MTAG 3.1 and MTS Livewire Smartphones, incorporating Qualcomm's Snapdragon S1 processors. This initiative has been designed to take the power of Android to the masses. Launched in the sub Rs 5,000 category, these are the most affordable Android Smartphones in India.

This launch is in line with our endeavour to stay a step ahead in providing the most innovative telecom solutions to our customers. I thank our handset partners ZTE and Huawei for making this possible,'' MTS India President and Chief Executive Officer Vsevolod Rozanov said.
