Energy firm finds massive underground gas resources in Lancashire UK

According to an energy firm that has been test drilling for controversial "shale gas" in Lancashire, UK it had found vast gas resources underground.
Cuadrilla Resources started testing for gas on the Fylde Coast in March, using a technique called "fracking".
The company said it had found 200 trillion cubic feet of gas under the ground and its recovery would provide 5,600 jobs in the UK, with Lancashire getting 1,700 of those.
However, opponents say the process produces damaging carbon emissions.
Campaign Against Climate Change, held a small protest outside the The Imperial Hotel in Blackpool yesterday, where Cuadrilla had organised a meeting to announce its findings.
Fracking uses high-pressure liquid, that contains chemicals, to release the gas by hydraulic fracturing of the ground.
