ADF Foods, a major player in the international market for processing and exporting ethnic Indian foods, has introduced `Soul' food products in the Indian market.

Soul, according to ADF, offers India's first range of pickles made in virgin olive oil that are rich in taste and free of trans-fats and cholesterol.

It also offers a range of premium quality food products comprising traditional pickles, ready-to-eat curries and mango chutney.

Commenting on the launch of `Soul', Bimal Thakkar, MD, ADF Foods, India, said: "With the growth of organised retail in India and greater acceptance to packaged foods we felt that it was the right time for us to get back in the Indian market.

"Our company has charted an aggressive growth strategy over the next five years and we intend to take this company from its current size of Rs100 crore to Rs500 crore by launching new products, opening up new markets and through inorganic growth."

ADF Foods started off as American Dry Fruits Stores in 1932 and steadily grew and diversified into a major food processing company manufacturing ethnic Indian pickles, chutneys, canned foods, frozen foods, ready-to-eat foods and spices under various brand names which are today leaders in their segments and categories.

ADF has presence in international markets like the Middle East, US, Canada, the UK, Europe, Australia and South East Asia with brands such as Ashoka, Camel, Aeroplane, Khansaama and Truly Indian.
