China launches Gaofen-2 HD satellite

China today launched its most advanced earth observation satellite, the Gaofen-2 from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre, IANS reported.
The country's second high-definite satellite launched from the launch centre in Shanxi Province at 11.15 am, according to Xinhua.
The satellite boosted by a Long March-4B carrier rocked is China's most advanced high-definition earth observation satellite, capable of spotting a one-metre-long object from space in full colour.
It would be used for geographic and resources surveillance, environment and climate change monitoring, agriculture, disaster relief and city planning.
The satellite would mostly be used by the ministries of land and resources, housing and urban-rural development, transport, and the state forestry administration.
