Company profile:
Indian roads are widely known for being unreliable, and travel comfort has many dimensions. Ride-quality and comfort are the parameters that vary due to widely changing road conditions. Here is where Hindustan Motors Ltd, one of the pioneering automotive companies in India, comes into the picture.
Hindustan Motor’s Ambassador brand is known for being sturdy and dependable even under the most adverse road conditions. Also, the company, keeping in mind the size of Indian families, has kept space at a premium and even in this time when a number of car models are available in the market, the Ambassador continues to be among the most spacious cars available.
Over the years Hindustan Motors has grown into a Rs 1-billion conglomerate, producing passenger cars, utility vehicles, power products and earthmoving equipment. Now starting to make major inroads into the export market, Hindustan Motors is exporting its flagship car, the Ambassador, to Britain and Japan, its trucks to Bangladesh, Egypt, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Mauritius and its earthmoving equipment to Oman, Jordan, Iraq, Bangladesh, Mauritius and Libya.
