Punj Lloyd to construct pipeline for Qatar Petroleum

Punj Lloyd Ltd has received a Rs389-crore contract from Qatar Petroleum to construct a multi-product pipeline from on an EPC basis. The company expects to execute the project in 17 months.

The scope of work involves engineering, procurement and construction on LSTK basis of 46km of 18" multi-product pipeline from Messaieed refinery to Doha Depot. The contract also involves the station work at Messaieed refinery and Doha depot including demolition.

Punj Lloyd says Qatar is a major focus area for the comany, this being its fourth project in the country.

Its other contracts include the prestigious Doha urban pipeline relocation, Ras Laffan Messaieed ethylene and butane pipeline and fuel systems for the New Doha International Airport.

With this, the order backlog for the Punj Lloyd group on consolidated basis has gone up to Rs 16,872.46 crore. This is the total value of unexecuted orders as of June 30, 2007 and new orders received till date."
