New Delhi: Domestic carrier Indian will launch a daily service between Ahmedabad and Muscat from April 2, and also convert the existing thrice-a-week Delhi-Muscat flight to a direct one.

The daily Ahmedabad-Muscat flight would operate via Mumbai, while the Delhi-Muscat service would continue to operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, an Indian spokesperson said.

With the introduction of the new service, Muscat would be connected to Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Kochi, Kozhikode and Hyderabad.

The airline is due to induct 48 new aircraft into its fleet, including 20 Airbus A321s, 18 A329s and four A320s. Nine of these aircraft would be joining its 74-strong current fleet this year itself.
