Bangalore: Low cost carrier, Air Deccan, has tied up with the Frankfinn Institute of Airhostesses Training for the exclusive supply of cabin crews for a period of two years.

According to media reports, Frankfinn chairman KS Kohli has indicated that only Frankfinn students will be recruited as cabin crew by Air Deccan. The understanding between the two parties guarantees 400 placements for each year of the contract.

This is another move by Air Deccan to put its operations on a sure footing. It has already signed a catering agreement with Café Coffee Day and also plans to out source pilots in the near future.

Meanwhile, Air Deccan managing director, Captain GR Gopinath, has expressed confidence that the carrier will enter profitability by the December quarter of this year. The carrier expects to take the number of passengers it ferries from the current 5 million to 8 million by the end of the fiscal year. He said that he expects a further rise in numbers to 12 million in the next fiscal.

80 per cent of Air Deccan routes are to non-metro cities. The carrier plans to connect an additional number of smaller cities.
