Musharraf advised not to return to Pakistan: reports

Pakistan's' director general, Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt general Shuja Pasha has strongly recommended Musharraf Pervez to postpone his comeback to Pakistan, a source said according to a report in the Dawn newspaper.

On condition of anonymity the source told Dawn News that general Pasha, who had been very close to the former president, held a meeting with him (Musharraf) in Dubai and advised him not to return to the country as the situation was not conducive for his return.

According to the source, Musharraf was strictly advised not to return to Pakistan. The report said it was not known whether the meeting was held at the instance of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) or it was a private summit.

The report said that after the meeting, Musharraf has summoned a meeting of his All Pakistan Muslim League party today, to reconsider his decision to return to the country.

The senate, on the other has adopted a resolution calling for the arrest of the former president on his arrival in the Pakistan. The resolution which was presented in the senate by PPP's high ranked leader senator Raza Rabbani, has received strong support from  a number prominent members of PML-N, ANP, JUI-F.

Rabbani pointed out that Musharraf had used government power to not only overwhelm Baloch nationalists but had also misused it to kill Baloch leader, Nawab Akbar Bugti and Benazir Bhutto.
