Paris: It is likely that Airbus may advance the date for delivery of the first of 55 A380 jets ordered by Emirates to April or May 2008, according to newspaper La Tribune, which cited various sources within Airbus for the information.

According to the newspaper, Airbus was due to deliver the first A380 to Emirates next August, but had now come under pressure from the airline to make the first A380 available in time for the opening of the new terminal at Dubai airport in May.

Airbus officials, according to the paper, had not made any firm commitments.

Airbus is due to make delivery of its very first, though much-delayed, A380 super jumbo to Singapore Airlines on Monday.
