"ABB's investment programme in India, is on course, and we will continue to expand both our capacity and product range as required," says Fred Kindle, president and CEO of ABB Group.

"ABB in India is one of the group's fastest growing operations today, with a very strong and reliable track record and many potential opportunities", Kindle said, commenting on the growth of ABB in India.

During a recent visit to review ABB's Indian operations, he said that ABB is firmly committed to expanding its operations in India,.

Over the past two years, ABB has set up new manufacturing units in Bangalore, Vadodara, Nashik and Halol to expand the range of products made in India. ABB's Indian operations are a global souring base for several products and components including high and medium voltage circuit breakers and magnetic actuators.

During his visit, Kindle announced the establishment of a new low voltage distribution electrical unit in Haridwar and a vacuum interrupter plant in Nashik. This is in addition to capacity expansion that is currently underway across businesses and locations. "India is on the development runway, poised for takeoff," Kindle said. "By overcoming its infrastructure challenges and unleashing its huge potential, India will take its rightful place in the emerging global economic order."

"India is not only a key ABB market, but an important resource base as well. It is also the hub country for the South Asia region and will play an important role in ABB's global operations", he added.

"We are extremely pleased with the progress of the Centre, and will continue to tap the high level of technical competence available in India," Kindle said.
