New Delhi: In an effort to boost passenger appeal, state-owned carrier, Indian Airlines, may have asked Airbus to supply a DVD channel to the in-flight entertainment systems on all 42 aircraft it would be supplying to it. Reports emerging in the media would suggest that Airbus has acceded to the request and would supply the facility at no extra cost.

Deliveries of the new aircraft to the carrier are due to start from June onwards at the rate of one a month.

Indian's order of Airbus A-319, 320 and 321 aircraft were originally intended to have a moving map and five video channels.

The five channels will show Hindi, English, music video, lifestyle and humour programmes.
