Aseervatham Achary, who was additional private secretary to jailed ex-telecom minister A Raja and is now a key witness for the prosecution in the 2G spectrum case, on Monday came under attack in the special CBI court trying the case, with defence lawyers accusing the Central Bureau of Investigation of ''tutoring'' him and putting pressure on him.

The allegations were denied by both the CBI and witness Achary.

''He (Achary) comes tutoured from your room (public prosecutor). If you want, I can give you photographs of it also,'' Raja's counsel Sushil Kumar said.

Former telecom secretary Siddharth Behura, who with Raja are the only accused to be still behind bars, also alleged that Achary ''is a completely tutoured witness''.

Sushil Kumar suggested Achary, former additional private secretary of Raja, chose to become a false witness for the CBI in the case as the DMK leader did not promote him in politics.

''You became a CBI witness under the pressure of the CBI that you will also be made an accused in the case,'' Kumar said while cross-examining Achary.
