Newrak, NJ, USA: Continental Airlines Inc, the fourth largest US carrier, said Wednesday that it would start daily nonstop flights between Newark, New Jersey and Mumbai, India from Oct. 30 2007.

According to a statement from the company, the flight from Newark Liberty international airport will be timed to provide connections at the airport with more than 230 other locations in the United States, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Service, on the more than 14-hour flight to India, will be provided through Boeing 777-200 planes, the company said. The new service is subject to government approval.

"Mumbai is the largest trans-Atlantic market not currently served by Continental and offers significant opportunities for growth in the future," Jim Compton, executive vice president of marketing, said in a statement.

The airline has operated nonstop service between New York and Delhi since 2005.
