Ruchi Soya, ITC, Videocon in Deloitte’s global consumer goods top 250

Threee indian consumer products companies - Ruchi Soya, ITC Limited & Videocon Industries Ltd - have featured in the list of top 250 consumer products companies from across the world.
India's ITC Limited ranked at 143, Ruchi Soya at 175, and Videocon Industries Ltd at 235 featured in the top 250 consumer products companies globally, in Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu's 5th annual 'Global Powers of the Consumer Products Industry 2012'.
The report identifies the 250 largest consumer product companies around the world based on the publicly available data for the companies' fiscal year 2010 (encompassing companies' fiscal years ended through June 2011).
According to the Deloitte report, these 250 largest consumer products companies generated combined sales of more than $2.82 trillion in 2010, growing at 8.4 per cent, nearly a 10 percentage point turnaround from the previous year's 1.2 per cent decline and a significant increase over 2009, when sales totalled $2.57 trillion.
Latin America led the regions in top-line sales growth with 22.2 per cent, followed by North America, which experienced a rebound in composite sales, growing nearly 11 per cent in 2010 from 3.2 per cent in 2009.
While Ruchi Soya and ITC Limited also featured in the 50 fastest growing consumer companies globally, aggressive organic growth contributed to Videocon Industries Ltd's double-digit sales increase and a place in the global top 250 consumer product companies.
