Sun Microsystems and CNBC-TV 18 co host forum on corporate innovation

Mumbai: CNBC-TV18 and Sun Microsystems joined hands to organise a discussion on 'converting innovation into customer benefit' in Mumbai.
Companies have been using innovation as a tool for retaining their existing customer base, creating new avenues for growth and even for enhancing the image of their brand.
Speaking at the event, Robert Youngjohns, executive vice president, Sun Microsystems, took the audience through how how organizations can translate innovations in their backend operations into tangible customer benefits thus positively affecting their bottom lines.
H e said, "There are different kinds of innovations. Breakthrough innovation and Accidental innovation are among some of them. The challenge is in talking to people, both employees and
end-users and finding ways to move them from their present state to a new and innovated state."
The panelists included Chandra Mohan, CTO, Orange, V Subramaniam, CIO, Otis elevators, K Thiagarajan, CEO, Hinduja TMT, V K Ramani, president IT, UTI Bank and Sunil Mehta, senior VP (IT), J Walter Thompson.
The panelists also explained how to simplify processes for customer benefit and the methods adopted by them within their own organisations to simplify processes as a customer convenience.
