Chennai: Information technology (IT) training company Aptech Ltd is hoping to achieve cumulative revenue of $30 million in Vietnam between 2007 and 2009. In 2006, it had earned $6 million, which is expected to go up to $12 million in 2009.

Aptech has recently signed a MoU with Vietnamese company FPT Corporation to open 20 more IT and multimedia training centres by 2008. The two companies already run 31 centres now offering Aptech Computer Certified Professional and Arena Multimedia Specialist Programme.

Back home Aptech has tied up with Indian Bank to offer educational loans to economically weaker students. According to Aptech's CEO and managing director Pramod Khera, a student would get 90 per cent finance towards the course fee and start repaying the principal only after completing six months of the course or getting employment, whichever is earlier.

The basic eligibility is a student should have scored 60 per cent in the 12th class (50 per cent for SC/ST candidates). The loans would be available only for non-working individuals under the age of 25 years (relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST).
