Pune airport authorities have a plan to accommodate up to 30 take-offs and 30 landings daily, within the restricted flying hours imposed by the Indian Air Force (IAF) from 15 September, when the airport's runway will be recarpeted.

Earlier, there was an apprehension that the restricted flying hours would lead to suspension of a large number of flights. From 15 September, the airport will remain open for civilian flights only from 10.30 am to 5.30 pm. The Pune airport presently operates about 70 flight movements a day.
