New Delhi: Bibek Debroy has taken over as the new Secretary General of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) from January 1, taking over from Dr B.P. Dhaka.

Debroy has served as the Director of the Rajiv Gandhi Institute for Contemporary Studies (RGICS), Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, New Delhi, before this appointment. Debroy is a professional economist, and has been educated at the Presidency College (Kolkata), the Delhi School of Economics and the Trinity College (Cambridge).
