Tapan Ray quits Kopran
Mumbai: The Managing Director of Kopran Ltd, Tapan Ray, has resigned from the company. The board of directors has recorded and accepted the resignation with effect from October 31, 2004, the company told the BSE on Thursday. According to the company, Surendra Somani, Executive Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer will oversee the operations of the company.

Deepak Parekh takes over as chairman at Siemens
Mumbai: Siemens Ltd has appointed Deepak Parekh as its chairman, in place of F A Mehta, who retired after 16 years with the company. Mehta will however continue as a non-executive director of the company, Siemens has said in a release. The decision was take at the company's board meeting. Parekh is executive chairman of HDFC Ltd, is a non-executive chairman of a number of HDFC group companies. He is also a non-executive chairman of Glaxo Burroughs Wellcome (India) Ltd and is on the board of several companies like Castrol BP India, Hindustan Lever Ltd, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd and Indian Hotels Company Ltd.
