Muralikrishnan joins eBay India as country manager

eBay India today announced the appointment of Muralikrishnan B as country manager, with immediate effect.
Muralikrishnan takes over from Ambareesh Murty, who led eBay India as country manager since March 2008, and now plans to follow entrepreneurial studies on internet-related opportunities in India.
In his new role, Muralikrishnan will be responsible for the eBay portfolio in India, Philippines & Malaysia. Earlier, he was senior director – marketing and product management at eBay.
''Indian eCommerce is rapidly evolving and eBay is uniquely positioned to continue to lead this growth. I am delighted to take on my new role and look forward to further strengthening our leadership position,'' said Muralikrishnan.
Muralikrishnan had joined eBay in 2005 and has held a variety of leadership roles in eBay India. He has also worked with Asian Paints and Sify Corporation.
A mechanical engineer from Osmania University, Hyderabad and an alumnus of IIM Calcutta, Muralikrishnan has also been part of the IAMAI (Internet & Mobile Association of India) eCommerce & FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry) retail committees.
