Lloyd Mathias has been elected the chairman of Media Research Users Council (MRUC), replacing Andrey Purushottam.

Purushottam's exit from MRUC was due to his resignation as the CEO of Mahindra & Mahindra's entertainment arm Mumbai Mantra, which saw him move out of the advertisers' constituency. Normally the post is held for a two-year duration.

Mathais, president and chief marketing officer at Tata Teleservices, handles marketing, product management, business development, alliances and valued added services segments.

He is an active member of MRUC and holds 20 years of work experience.

Incorporated in 1994, MRUC is a not-for-profit body representing advertisers, advertising agencies, publishers, and broadcast / other media and is the publisher of the Indian Readership Survey.
