Rajiv Dube, Tata Motors' passenger car unit chief resigns

Rajiv DubeRajiv Dube, president (passenger car business unit), Tata Motors' has communicated to the management his decision to resign to pursue interests outside the Tata Group.

In a press release today the company said his request has been accepted.

S Krishnan, senior vice-president (commercial) will take charge of the premier cars division, in addition to his current responsibilities of sales, marketing and customer support functions of the business.

Similarly, Girish Wagh, head-small car project will take over additional responsibilities for the passenger car business' manufacturing operations and product development functions.

Both Krishnan and Wagh will report directly to P M Telang, Tata Motors' managing director operations in India.

Dube has played a pivotal role in the growth of the company's passenger car business, since the establishment of the division in 1998, according to the release. It added, "Tata Motors acknowledges his contribution to the company, and wishes him all success in his future career."

Dube joined the group in 1983, and has since then been with the passenger cars business unit since its formation in 1998.
