R Ravimohan, executive director of Reliance Industries Ltd, passed away on Monday (28 December). He died following a cardiac arrest. Ravimohan, 52, is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.

Ravimohan suffered a cardiac arrest while taking a walk outside his office, reports said.

Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, expressed grief at the sudden loss of Ravimohan.

A chemical engineer, Ravimohan had also completed an Advanced Management Programme from Harvard Business School.

He joined the Mukesh Ambani-led company as executive director in August, after a stint in Crisil as chairman, an RIL spokesperson said.

Ravimohan was reported to be handling RIL's proposed acquisition of global petrochemical major LyondellBasell Industries.
