Lt Gen BS Nagal takes over as chief of the Strategic Forces Command

New Delhi: Lieutenant General BS Nagal takes over as the new commander of India's Strategic Forces today. Gen Nagal takes over this most recent, and crucial, of services commands from Vice Admiral Vijay Shankar, who takes over as the new commander-in-chief of the Andaman-based tri-services command, defence ministry sources said.
Air Marshal SC Mukul, previously chief of the IAF's Allahabad-based Central Air Command, has been appointed as the new chief of the Integrated Defence Staff headquarters here, in place of Lt Gen Hardev Singh Lidder, who retires today.
Air Marshal Radhakrishnan replaces Air Marshal Mukul at the Central Air Command.
Commanders-in-Chief of Army's South Western Command Lt Gen PK Singh and Central Command Lt Gen HS Panag also retire today, but do not hand over charge to anybody as their replacements are yet to be announced.
Lt Gen RK Karwal takes over as the new Director General of the National Cadet Corps from Lt Gen PS Chaudhary.
