Mumbai: Dentsu Marcom has announced that R Ravi Shankar will take over the helm of its Mumbai operations.

Shankar comes aboard Dentsu from SSC&B Lintas, where he was executive vice president, and oversaw the running of the entire agency.

Shankar takes over from Ashish Dabral, who as chief operating officer (COO) had been looking after Dentsu Marcom's Mumbai operations.

Welcoming his successor at Mumbai, Dabral said Ravi's experience and maturity would be an asset to Dentsu Marcom's growth plans in Mumbai. Shankar expressed his happiness at being part of a high-growth agency like Dentsu, which has a young team with high energy levels.

Shankar has over two decades of experience, and over the course of his career has managed clients like Hindustan Unilever, United Spirits, ICICI, Videocon, and Hyundai Motors. Shankar has also worked with Parle Agro as general manager, and with Puma as marketing manager.
