Hindustan Lever shifts personnel
Mumbai: Hindustan Lever is restructuring its organisation structure with changes in the top management level of its food business division. K.P.Ponappa, director on the board of the company in charge of ice creams and frozen food, has been shifted as director (strategic projects) to be in charge of Project Millennium, essentially the company’s corporate restructuring project. Consequently, J.H. Mehta, divisional vice-president (beverages) has been given charge of ice creams and frozen dessert business with no change in designation. Guninder Kapur, formerly general manager, popular foods, has been designated as head of foods and will look after oil and dairy fats and culinary products. All changes are to come into effect from 1 January 2000

Earlier, Hindustan Lever has appointed S. Ravindranath, then head of detergents (commercial), as chief of the beverages business, following Sanjay Khosla moving to Unilever as vice-president foods division.

Ravishankar is head of Prit
Mumbai: Polaris Retail Infotech, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Polaris Software Lab of Chennai, and called Prit now, has a new chief executive in D. Ravishankar, formerly chief executive officer of Cholamandalam Cazenove AMC.

Mr Ravishankar has been designated as president and chief executive officer of Prit and his brief includes development of new products, creation of a well-defined brand identity/distribution channels and handling of customers and dealers and vendors by paying attention to all aspects of the relationship.
