New Delhi gets ready for Mobile Asia 2008

The national capital is all set to host 'Mobile Asia 2008' at the Pragati Maidan. The event begins on 29 February, and will carry on till 3 March 2008. The chief minister of Delhi, Sheila Dixit, will inaugurate Mobile Asia 2008.
Mobile Asia is India's largest consumer exhibition based on mobile technology. This expo will display new products and services, which are being offered by various telecom and handset companies.
India has seen an exceptional growth in the mobile phone subscriber base, from 2 million at the start of the millennium to over 100 million presently. India has now emerged as the world's second largest mobile telecom market. The trend in mobile telephony usage has shown a huge rise in the younger generation.
Keeping this in mind, the theme for this year's expo will be GenNext. In sync with the theme, exhibitors will bring forth newer phones and technologies, which will enable consumers to gain an insight into what they can expect in the future. Mobile Asia 2008 provides a platform to the industry to interact with the youth.
The companies participating in 'Mobile Asia 2008' are Samsung, Sandisk, Airtel, Nokia, Vodafone, World Space Radio, Mobi Flexi, World Phone, Scratchgard, Ericsson, LG, Nuonce, RPG, Mobi-Junction, Motorola, I-Mate, Asus, Mobile Store, Intex Mobiles, and HiMark Technologies, to name a few.
