Port employees to get 19.18 per cent productivity-linked reward

The shipping ministry has announced the payment of productivity-linked reward at the rate of 19.18 per cent of the annual salary/wage to the port workers/employees/officers for the year 2008-09.

This will benefit about 61,000 port employees.

For calculating the productivity-linked reward, salary/wage of each worker/employee will be taken as the total of basic pay, DA and incentive payments, subject to maximum of Rs3,500 per month.

In case the wage/salary of an individual exceeds Rs3,500 per month, the calculation of payment will be made as if their salary/wage were only Rs3,500 per month, a government release said.
