TRAI has extended the time limit for considering the matter relating to tariff for cable TV services in non-CAS areas de novo in all aspects to 30 November 2009.

"Based on the data provided by various stakeholders as also the information available with the Authority, TRAI has arrived at the representative operational figures of various stakeholders in the value chain," TRAI said.

TRAI has since issued a press release on 10 November 2009 asking stakeholders to offer their comments, if any, on the figures supported by full data in the prescribed format by 18 November 2009.

TRAI said it has received requests from a number of stakeholders for extension of time for submission of their response. Keeping in view the requests of the stakeholders and the tight time schedule to carry out this exercise, TRAI has now decided to extend the last date for submission of response up to 30 November 2009, the release said.

Failing this, TRAI said it would presume that the stakeholders are in agreement with the figures derived by it and that no further extension of the date will be granted.
