Dime to join Nasdaq Financial-100 Index

New York: Dime Community Bancshares of Brooklyn, New York, will become a component of the Nasdaq Financial-100 Index, effective at the beginning of trading on 6 March 2002. Dime will replace the BISYS group, which is delisting from the Nasdaq Stock Market (www.nasdaq.com).

With a market capitalisation of $503 million, Dime is a unitary thrift-holding company and the parent company of the Dime Savings Bank of Williamsburgh, Brooklyn, New York, which was founded in 1864.

The Bank has 18 branches located throughout Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Nassau County, New York, and provides financial services for consumers and businesses and loans for multi-family housing within its market areas.
