SEBI notifies stock exchanges to display annual reports of listed companies

10 May 2010

Stock markets watchdog SEBI has asked stock exchanges to display annual reports of listed companies for the financial year 2009-10 onwards on their websites, for easy access to investors.

''All Stock Exchanges are advised to make the Annual Reports for the financial year 2009-10 onwards, submitted to Stock Exchange as per Clause 31 of Equity Listing Agreement, available on their respective websites,'' Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) said in a circular.

All stock exchanges are advised to take immediate steps and inform us the status of implementation, it added.

Earlier, listed companies used to make their annual reports available on the EDIFAR website as per clause 51 of the equity listing agreement.

However, SEBI said in its circular to the exchanges, ''with discontinuation of EDIFAR site, it has become necessary to ensure that Annual Reports of listed companies are available/ easily accessible to investors on alternative sites''.

EDIFAR was the electronic data information filing and retrieval system for filing, retrieval and dissemination of corporate information filed by the listed companies with the stock exchanges in India.

At present, companies only file on a quarterly and annual basis their financial results and shareholding pattern with the stock exchanges.
