A Polish start-up has developed a computer within a mouse fitted with a quad-core processor, Wi-Fi and 128GB storage; the only extra hardware needed is a monitor and a keyboard.

The Mouse Box concept is the brainchild of a Poland-based Przemyslaw Strzelczyk along with a team of software developers. The device is the same size as a traditional mouse and could comfortably fit in the hand. The device ran on a 1.4GHz ARM processor, like the chip inside the Samsung Galaxy Note 10, for instance.

The wirelss gadget called Mouse-Box is designed by Poland-based Przemyslaw Strzelczyk with a team of software developers.

It connects to a monitor or projector via a standard HDMI cable, and has the same amount of storage as a high-end iPhone 6 Plus.

The storage cannot be physically expanded but could be increased with cloud storage.

Mouse-Box has built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, and charges wirelessly on an inductive charging pad that doubles up as a mouse pad, which meant it should never run out of battery.

Meanwhile, The Register reported that the spec would not excite gamers, but Strzelczyk and his team have built a decent working computer into a Mouse.

The Mouse-Box, currently at working prototype stage, packed a 1.4 GHz quad-core ARM CPU, a micro-HDMI port, WiFi up to 802.11n, accelerometer, gyroscope, two USB 3.0 ports as also 128 GB flash into the familiar form of a pointing device.

The Mouse-Box would, when ready for the market, ship with a foldaway inductive charger.

The HDMI port was the key: users would connect the Mouse-Box to a nearby monitor. When users are at home, the device will rest on their desks and behave like any other mouse while on the road, the device would hook up to a monitor to provide a familiar environment.
