The Chinese-language website of the Dalai Lama's Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) has been attacked.

Revealing details, net security firm Kaspersky Lab said the website for the Tibetan government-in-exile had been compromised and infected with malicious software that could be used to spy on visitors to the site.

According to technical evidence, it was likely the handiwork of hackers who had carried out previous cyber attacks on various human rights groups across Asia.

Oraganisations around the world, opposed to Chinese government policies have been attacked by a number of groups, including the newly re-surfaced Comment Crew.

Kaspersky said, the CTA site had come under attack from the same group of hackers since 2011, but the earlier breaches had been quietly identified and repaired.

Meanwhile, a Chinese court in Rebkong, Tibet awarded a two-and-a-half year prison term to a  Tibetan involved his in ''self immolation protests" in November last year, phayaul.com said citing sources. The verdict, announced in February this year had only come to be known now, due to China's strict censorship and monitoring of information.

Dorjee, a student of the Rebkong intermediate school, also faced charges of "instigating separatism", engaging in pro-independence protests as also founding a group called 'Ghangsol Gyunzin Tsokpa' aimed at presevering Tibet culture.

A native of Dowa town in Rebkong, he is currently lodged at a detention centre in Xiling, Qinghai.

Meanwhile, monks, Drakpa Gyatso and Jigme Tenzin, both from Dowa town of Rebkong, who had held fiery self immolation protests in the region had been released. There have been 13 self-immolations since 14 March 2012, in the region, since 14 March 2012.

With the worsening crisis in Tibet, anti-China protests have grown. In a series of self-immolations 120 Tibetans have set themselves on fire, since 2009, demanding freedom and the return of the  Dalai Lama from exile.
