Army chief launches personal security mobile application for Army personnel

The Chief of Army staff Gen V K Singh today launched a free emergency alert mobile application for armed forces personnel, ex servicement, and their families.

Eyewatch, which provides instant emergency alerts to close contacts, alerting them of the user's emergency along with their location, audio visual information of the situation and other critical details, has been offered free to defence force personnel by  Delhi-based security company IndianeyeSecurity PrivateLimited

''Since 2012 - 13 has been declared as 'year for veterans', this is the first step to reach out to our veterans and their families to provide them this emergency alert service ffree of cost,''  said Gen Singh, inaugurating the application.

Eyewatch is an easy to use mobile phone application, for the user's personal safety, which is installed on their cellphone and allows them to trigger instant emergency alerts to close contacts. It helps to simplify communication when the user is in distress and allows individuals to communicate with their family, doctors or security personnel and others, in an easy and decisive manner during a crisis.

Installing the Eyewatch application virtually turns a telephone phone into a personal safety device that alerts close contacts without attracting attention and sends SOS alerts even if users are not on GPRS.

The application tracks the user's location even inside buildings and instantly captures audio visual information of the emergency to share with their contacts.  It also      tracks the user's when required in an emergency.

The eyewatch application is available as a free download from the website (http://ia.eye-watch.in) or by sending a sms, ''Eyewatch IA'' to 53030. The user will receive a download link (http://bit.ly/eyewatchalertapp), clicking on this link and select the application which works on your phone.

To register, click on the application, click ''Sign up'' to create an account, enter a username and password, select the country from a drop-down list, enter the mobile number, name, email address, select your date of birth and gender, enter the mobile number and email ids of close contacts and click ''Submit'' and one is ready to use the application.
