Two men were yesterday jailed for four years each after using Facebook to incite rioting in the UK. The men, Jordan Blackshaw, 20 and Perry Sutcliffe, 22, who had no previous convictions, were arrested last week.

Blackshaw created an event page titled ''Smash Dwn In Northwich Town'' on 8 August, asking people to gather ''behind maccies''

The first comment he added said: ''We'll need to get this kickin off all over.''

Thanks to the police infiltrating the page and most of his friends being ''revolted'' by his plan, people failed to turn up.

On 9 August, Sutcliffe setting up a page called ''Warrington Riots'' included a photo of rioters clashing with police, which caused locals to ''panic''.

The duo, Blackshaw from Northwich, and Sutcliffe, of Warrington, Cheshire, both pleaded guilty to creating the pages.
