India’s largest e-waste recycling unit planned

Mumbai: IT firm Cerebra Integrated Technologies Ltd today said it was collaborating with Cimelia Resource Recovery Pte Ltd, to set up India's largest E-waste recycling unit in Bangalore.

Cimelia is a subsidiary arm of Singapore-listed Enviro-Hub Holdings Ltd, a global provider of environment restoration services for electronics, electrical and equip industries.

Cerebra  said it will roll out this plan within next one year and commence operations immediately.

The tie up will help Cerebra Integrated acquire global expertise and technology support from Cimelia, an e-waste management services provider to set up the proposed unit, along with plant and machinery and jointly manage the plant.

The alliance will help Cerebra double its e-waste management capacity from 30,000 to 60,000 tonnes annually. Through the new plant, Cerebra hopes to gain an entry in international market, through its global client base. It said that it would invest Rs50 crore for unit and aims to achieve a turnover of Rs250 crore in FY 2013 with an exp-ected profit margin of 25 per cent.

V. Ranganathan, managing director, Cerebra Integrated Technologies Limited said, that the government of Karnataka has extended its support to the waste disposal project.
