Bangalore: United Breweries chairman Vijay Mallya stated here recently that VJM Resorts, his private company, is investing Rs100 crore for developing three resorts in Lakshwadeep, and possibly in Kerala too.

The recent alliance between Kingfisher Holidays, a property of Mallya's Kingfisher Airlines, and Krishnan Nambiar's Neelambari Resort located at Kasargod district in Kerala, is likely to herald further investment in these parts. Nambiar has been Mallya's business associate.

Since Mallya entered into Africas's tourism industry in the '90s, VJM Resorts has set up three luxury resorts and a hotel in South Africa.

Mallya's plans to develop luxury resorts are being seen as supportive to his Kingfisher Airlines.
