Swamy names Karunanidhi as co-accused in 2G spectrum case

Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy has named Tamil Nadu chief minister and DMK supremo M Karunanidhi as a co-accused in the 2G telecom spectrum case, along with former telecom minister A Raja.
Making a submission before the court, Swamy said he intends to move an application to implead some other persons, including Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi, as accused in the case.
"I have named DMK chief Karunanidhi as a co-accused along with Raja in the matter and many more names will be added," Swamy told the court.
The matter is wider than the CBI investigation and in the "nation's interest", he added.
The special court hearing the petition today issued notice to the CBI, asking it to file a detailed report on whether its probe in the 2G spectrum case covers the aspect of national security as raised by Janta Party chief Subramanian Swamy.
Special CBI Judge Pradeep Chaddah directed the CBI to file a detailed report on the investigation being carried out by it. The notice has been posted for 22 February.
