Don't have the time to visit the nearest multiplex or the patience to stand in the queue to watch the latest Hindi blockbuster? Don't worry, there's good news. Hindi movies made only for mobile devices, which you can watch at your convenience wherever you are, are coming your way soon. The only catch is that such movies would be of short durations to enable optimum downloads over the mobile network.

GSM Association, the global alliance of GSM cellular operators and content developer Hungama have formed an alliance to produce such short movies for mobiles, according to a report in Businessweek. They have already contracted top Hindi movie director Sanjay Gupta, who directed movies like Kaante and Musafir, to direct three such movies.

The first of these 'movies for mobiles' would be launched at the 3GSM World Congress, the global showcase of GSM technologies, in Barcelona during the second week of February. "Our project Dus Kahaniya has been made specifically with the mobile and digital medium in mind," Sanjay Gupta was quoted in the report.

"We are delighted to be able to showcase these extraordinary films in Barcelona and we are very excited by Roamware and Hungama Mobiles' commitment to bring the spectacle of Bollywood to mobile phones--the fourth screen. In doing so, we hope to catalyse a truly compelling mobile entertainment experience for mobile users globally", said Craig Ehlrich — chariman of GSM Association.
