Suzlon's REpower signs contract for 51-megawatt US wind farm project

German wind turbine manufacturer, REpower Systems AG, today said that it has concluded a contract for the delivery of 25 wind turbines with EverPower Wind Holdings.

The Suzlon Group company added that there was a possibility of EverPower purchasing an additional 85 units.

REpower MM92 turbines, with a rated power of 2.05 megawatts and a hub height of 80 metre, will be used for EverPower's development projects located across the US states of New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Washington.

In addition to installation and commissioning of the turbines, REpower and EverPower have entered into a long-term service and maintenance agreement, the company said in a statement.

The project will be commissioned by the end of 2011, REpower said.

The 25 turbines will have a total power output of 51 megawatts with each turbine producing up to 6.5 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of wind electricity per year.
