Torrent Power signs EPC contracts with Siemens group for SUGEN project

Torrent Power Ltd has signed turnkey engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts with Siemens AG, Germany and Siemens Ltd India for capacity expansion at its 382.5 MW gas-based combined cycle power project and for a greenfield DGEN project at the Dahej SEZ (the 1200 MW gas-based combined cycle power project).

UNOSUGEN is the company's 382.5 MW gas-based combined cycle power project located close to River Tapi, which is expanding its existing capacity.

While UNOSUGEN is being established under the aegis of Torrent Power Ltd, DGEN is being established under the aegis of Torrent Energy Ltd, the wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) in a filing.

The company plans to add approximately 1600 MW power generation capacity in the Torrent fold within the next three years.
